The Equity Calculator doesn't recognise an asterisk as a wildcard character, whether I type it in or choose it by clicking the grid below. Same error message for 9*, A*, *c, *h, or any wildcard choice.
Latest PT4, running on 10.15.7 Catalina.

That's because you are only filtering for one holecard (any 9) but not the second holecard. If you want any 9 AND any other card that would be 9***.
