Moving PT4 to External HD

Looks like this is an option based on my research. Are there any pros and cons to doing this? So far I backed up all of my databases.What else should I back up? My main goal is to free up space on my C drive and Postgres is taking up a lot of memory. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

An external drive must always be connected otherwise PostgreSQL won't start and PokerTracker 4 won't be able to connect. A USB external drive (especially a mechanical HDD or a slower USB connection) will be slower than an internal drive however an external SSD over USB 3.0+ should be fine. Please also note that external drives are also more prone to accidental disconnection and are generally more failure-prone than internal drives. If the external drive is disconnected while PostgreSQL is running and actively reading/writing (bumped cable, power loss to a USB hub, accidental unplug), it can corrupt your data.

So far I backed up all of my databases.What else should I back up?

The only other things that can be backed are PokerTracker 4 optional files. You can back those up as part of the process but they are not required when you are just restoring a database you are moving from one drive to another on the same computer.
